Giants vs. 49ers: Why San Francisco 49ers Will Halt the New York Giants Offense
The New York Giants offense has been rolling since the emergence of Victor Cruz, but their success will come to an end against the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.
The Giants have been largely a big-play offense using their two deep threats, Hakeem Nicks and Cruz, to stretch the field. They had their way with a bad Green Bay Packers defense that has been giving up big plays all year and was unable to rush the passer.
The Niners, however, are a completely different and much more difficult unit to play against. Their defense starts with their pass rush with Aaron and Aldon Smith. Aaron can collapse the pocket with the best bull rush in football, and Aldon is a deceivingly powerful and quick rusher off the edge that will have his way with Kareem McKenzie.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
For all of the big plays the Giants have made, their running game has vastly improved from their 32nd ranking in the regular season. But running against the NFL's best front seven is going to be quite the tall task for the Giants.
Perhaps the most improved player on the 49ers is Dashon Goldson. His great range will allow the Niners to use more single-high concepts. The lack of a tight end threat will make Dashon's role much simpler, and he can play in a "center field" role and take away the big plays the Giants thrive on.
The Giants will still always be a threat to score on just about any play, but relying on big plays all day against a defense like this is a recipe for disaster.
