NFL Playoffs 2012: Power Ranking Every Team's Chances of Winning Super Bowl XLVI
While the they've all won a playoff game, only one team from Wild Card weekend has any reasonable chance of winning Super Bowl XLVI. As we take a look at the remaining teams and their chances to win it all this year, don't expect for any underdog's odds to be good.
1. Green Bay Packers
It's impossible to objectively rank anyone below the Packers.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
They are an offensive machine, and they never fail to step up and make the big plays on the other side of the ball. The Packers were second in the NFL in turnover margin, only trailing the 49ers. With Green Bay's offense, turnovers are more important than any yardage or points statistics.
As if that wasn't enough, the Packers will be at home for the balance of the NFC playoffs. Their road to Indianapolis is a favorable one.
First, they play the Giants, who they beat during the regular season in New York.
After that, it's either the 49ers or Saints. The 49ers haven't beaten the Packers since the 1998-1999 playoffs, and the Packers beat the Saints earlier this season. The mental edge clearly lies with Green Bay.
2. San Francisco 49ers
No team in the NFC is better equipped to beat the Packers at Lambeau Field than the 49ers—something they will have to do to get to the Super Bowl.
The 49ers were the eighth-best rushing offense in the league. This will keep opposing quarterbacks off of the field.
Their defense has been a shut-down unit all year long. San Francisco's 14.3 points per game was second-best in the NFL during the regular season (Pittsburgh allowed 14.2). Their average was nearly two points per game better than the third-best team.
The 49ers' defense is far and away the best in the NFC. In a week with normal travel and preparation, no AFC team is balanced enough to beat the 49ers.
3. New Orleans Saints
Despite the Saints' explosive offense, Saturday's game being in San Francisco is going to hurt the New Orleans.
On the road, the Saints score 27.3 points per game. At home, the 49ers score 27.6. When the Saints play on the road and outdoors, they average fewer than 26 a game. Given the strength of the 49ers' defense, the Saints may have too much of a problem in San Francisco.
Should they get by the 49ers, however, the Saints' road is nice. The Packers' defense is not a good one. Even in Green Bay, Drew Brees and the Saints' offense would put up points.
Once at the Super Bowl, no AFC team is complete enough to beat the Saints, especially in a dome.
4. New England Patriots
The Patriots are the top team in the AFC because there isn't a single team in the conference with the punch to stop them.
The Ravens are the closest, but they had a hard time beating quality opponents on the road all season. They would have to beat the Patriots in New England.
New England will breeze past the Broncos. Denver's defense had a hard time stopping Pittsburgh's weapons at the end of their Wild Card weekend game. New England's offense is far better than the Steelers', especially at home.
After beating the Broncos, it comes down to the Ravens or Texans. The Texans are too beat-up, however, and the Ravens aren't consistent enough on offense to match New England.
5. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens' defense will always make them a factor. They are built to beat the Patriots in the same way that the 49ers are built to beat the Packers and Saints.
The problem is that, unlike the 49ers, the Ravens haven't won consistently on the road this year. The only quality road win they notched all year was against the Steelers.
New England would give them problems. The Patriots averaged over eight points per game more than the Ravens in the regular season. That's too much to overcome on the road.
6. New York Giants
The Giants have a great pass rush and Eli Manning working in their favor.
But despite being tied for second in the NFL in sacks, the Giants barely cracked the top 10 in interceptions. That is going to be problematic against the Packers. The only way to beat Green Bay is to force turnovers, and that will not happen.
On the Manning side of the fence, the Giants lost big games this season against the Packers and 49ers on Eli interceptions.
7. Houston Texans
This would be the most complete team in the NFL, but injuries have hampered Houston nearly beyond belief. The Texans are going to have to find a way to win in Baltimore, something they couldn't do with a healthy Matt Schaub early in the season.
The Ravens' defense also allowed more than three points per game less than the Bengals did during the regular season, so the same game plan the Texans used last weekend will not work on Sunday.
8. Denver Broncos
No 8-8 regular season team has ever won more than one playoff game. That's not going to change here.
The Broncos wouldn't have beaten the Steelers if Pittsburgh was healthy. Now, Denver is going on the road to New England, a team with a more potent offense that's already handily defeated the Broncos in Denver.
This game is not going to go any better. Denver has a nice foundation built for future seasons, but they have no chance at winning the Super Bowl this season.
