Odds for Every SEC Contender to Win the BCS Championship Next Season
The SEC has won six straight BCS National Championship games, starting in 2007.
It's been Florida, LSU, Florida again, Alabama, Auburn and Alabama again in that six-year span.
It wouldn't be surprising to see at least one SEC team in the BCS final again in 2013, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the SEC extend its streak to seven champions.
So, let's take a look at the odds each SEC contender wins it all in 2013.
5. South Carolina Gamecocks: 1,000 to 1
1 of 5South Carolina is getting a huge boost by getting running back Marcus Lattimore back from a season-ending injury.
The offense will be much better off with him in the lineup, since opposing defenses can't seem to stop him.
Quarterback Connor Shaw will also be back, giving this team a lot of continuity offensively.
But, the Gamecocks will have to replace receiver Alshon Jeffery, who is heading to the NFL.
They have a chance to win the SEC East, and if they can pull off an upset victory in the SEC Championship, anything could happen.
4. Arkansas Razorbacks: 450 to 1
2 of 5Running back Knile Davis is returning from a knee injury and quarterback Tyler Wilson is returning for his senior season.
They would be conference champions in most other conferences, but they are stuck in the SEC West, with Alabama and LSU.
If they can somehow pull off upsets against those two teams, they'll most likely be en route to a national championship.
3. Georgia Bulldogs: 150 to 1
3 of 5Aaron Murray is a great quarterback, probably the best quarterback in the entire SEC.
If the Bulldogs can beat South Carolina and Missouri, they should win the SEC East.
Then, a win in the SEC Championship Game might send them to the national title game.
They need to avoid an early loss in non-conference play to keep momentum going for the whole season, but stranger things have happened.
2. Alabama Crimson Tide: 20 to 1
4 of 5Alabama is still going to have a dominant defense in 2012, but it won't be nearly as good as it was in 2011.
Guys like Dre Kirkpatrick, Dont'a Hightower, Mark Barron and Courtney Upshaw will most likely be going to the NFL, and so will guys like Trent Richardson on offense.
That means some younger guys are going to have to step up big if the Tide want to get back to the BCS National Championship.
They certainly have the talent, but the 2014 BCS title is probably a more realistic goal at this point.
1. LSU Tigers: 7 to 2
5 of 5LSU is returning a very solid defense and several key offensive pieces.
The Tigers will also be bitter about the heartbreaking loss they suffered in the 2012 BCS title.
And, with freshman Gunner Kiel in the mix at quarterback, this team could pick up right where it left off by winning a second-straight SEC Championship.
If the Tigers play a team with a worse defense than this year's Alabama squad, they could easily win the national championship next year.
