WWE Raw Analysis: Kane Leaves Cena and Ryder Unconscious and Jericho Is Silent
Raw was a really decent broadcast last night with Kane exploding onto the show.
He is an excellent talent on the microphone, an aspect to his character that was not introduced until he had been in the WWE for two years.
His promo that kicked off Raw was engaging, entertaining and terrifying. Kane has become cool once again.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Since the true essence of Kane was resurrected, he has been on a total rampage, focusing mainly on John Cena, but the one thing he has been able to do better than anything else is to once again suspend the disbelief of the audience.
He nearly dragged Zack Ryder into an abyss last week and it was a segment that was praised for its magnificence, especially by me.
The supernatural aspect is back in the WWE ironically in what some people have labelled the "Reality Era."
Kane spent the entire episode of Raw stalking a jittery Zack Ryder before leaving him unconscious with an anticlimactic chokeslam from the loading bay.
What was so unimpressive about it was the fact that there wasn’t a sound effect for when Zack Ryder hit the floor, breaking the illusion and immediately making me think he landed on a mattress.
Mankind probably would have refused a stunt mat...
Nevertheless, this is the only criticism I have of the whole segment.
John Cena rushed in to save his buddy, abandoning a match he was having with Dolph Ziggler to come and rescue his friend. He ended up once again being suffocated by Kane’s glove leaving him lying unconscious with Zack Ryder in what looked like a breezy loading bay (see Kane’s hair?).
Is Eve still in that car?
Chris Jericho came back again and this time decided to try Kharma’s trick—he just broke down and started crying for no reason.
Reckon he’s pregnant?
This "overcome with emotion" excuse is not doing it for me but as it is, I still have faith in Jericho and I wasn’t as angry this week because I knew he wasn’t going to say anything.
However, if this angle leads nowhere then I will feel they have wasted valuable air time for no good reason. Jericho or not, I still want some action. At least he wore the light-up jacket again.
Can someone please let me know when they are on WWEShop.com?
The final main point that I must address is Brodus Clay, or should I say "The Funkasaurus from Planet Funk"?
Now before I analyse this very surprising situation, I have to say when I first heard him be announced, I thought “Oh no.” However, despite obviously still paying for his Twitter blunder, there are many positive points to take away from this debut:
He Still Won
Whether he was forced into a laughable gimmick or not, Brodus Clay still squashed Curt Hawkins. That has to count for something.
At least they haven’t taken his power away from him. He looked mightily convincing in the ring despite the gyrations. It wasn’t as if he won by accident either, Curt Hawkins didn’t stand a chance.
He Pulled It Off Brilliantly
No one can deny that Brodus Clay was entertaining. I thought he pulled the gimmick off brilliantly. Every move caused a reaction and people were laughing, not booing as can happen if a gimmick is bad.
My favourite bit was when someone shouted “you suck, Brodus!” and he responded in a rather camp voice “my bad!” I truly did think that was brilliant. I think he could be the new Godfather and I don’t mean Marlon Brando.
It could be a good start for Brodus if he continues to execute his gimmick as well as I think he did tonight. I’m gutted that I don’t want to bash it...I like complaining.
He Looked More Comfortable in the Ring
There is no doubt that Brodus looked a lot more at ease when in the ring doing his gimmick.
He certainly put full effort into it and seemed to be enjoying the new-found freedom, being that he didn't have to frown 24/7.
I think he is a great wrestling talent in terms of the overall package and if his ring-work improves because of this gimmick, that can only be a good thing, right?
Rolling With It Will Gain Him More Respect
Everyone knows he got this gimmick for spoiling a storyline on the popular social networking site Twitter.
However, if he rolls with it and takes his punishment like a man without complaining, who knows where he could be in a few years time?
Look at Triple H.
He was de-pushed big time after the Madison Square Garden incident but his true talent shined through, and after taking his punishment, he gained the respect of the locker room (including The Undertaker who didn’t like him at first) and became one of the biggest superstars the company had ever seen.
I can’t see Brodus doing the same but he could rise to the top of the mountain at some point.
Thirteen-time world champion is unlikely.
