WWE Network: Ring of Honor Should Be Syndicated on the WWE Network

The Doctor Chris MuellerJan 11, 2012

The WWE's next big venture, which will debut this year, is the WWE network. This is a huge move by Vince McMahon to further grow his brand.

Since taking over from his father, McMahon has grown the WWE from a wrestling promotion into a worldwide entertainment company with interests in just about every medium.

The WWE network will no doubt need new content to help drive in viewers, which is why Ring of Honor should have a syndication deal with the WWE and the network.

This would work out well for so many reasons, and would in no way hurt the WWE. The first and maybe most important reason would be that it will introduce fans to what could be the next wave of WWE superstars.

Many of today's greats in TNA and WWE got their start in ROH. CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles all had runs with the company before heading on to bigger and better things.

The WWE may end up showing FCW on their network, which is the WWE's developmental territory, where tomorrow's superstars train with yesterday's legends.

ROH's TV deal is currently being handled by the Sinclair Broadcasting group, which could put a kink in any potential plans were something like this to be a possibility.

The WWE would probably have to show the shows a week after Sinclair has a chance to show the content on their own stations, so as not to take away from any potential earnings from original broadcasts. However, once the show has aired, it would only help the WWE and ROH for the WWE Network to replay it.

The network is a big venture and could fall flat. Vince McMahon needs to do whatever he can to bring in viewers, and if that means dealing with what he perceives as the competition then that is what he should do.

Not being willing to think outside the box has not got Vince McMahon where he is today—he has got here by taking new approaches and strategies and implementing them in his business.

Teaming with ROH could be the next step towards WWE and their TV network becoming a mainstay. This may be a wild dream, but one can hope, especially one who does not have access to ROH except through YouTube, which can get tiring.

I realize the unlikely nature of this kind of pairing, but stranger things have happened.

Should the WWE and ROH come to an agreement to replay ROH shows on WWE's new network?
