Both teams have made donations toward the relief efforts as well. The Chargers pledged $200,000 to a variety of organizations that are providing local support, while the Rams are giving $1 million to the LAFD Foundation.
Countless residents of Los Angeles and its surrounding cities have been displaced because of multiple wildfires. At least 11 people have died, with five attributed to the Palisades Fire and six to the Eaton Fire.
As the champions of the NFC West, the Rams were scheduled to host the Minnesota Vikings at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. However, the league moved the game to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The Rams have still been practicing at their facility in Woodland Hills, where smoke from the wildfires was visible on the horizon.
"On behalf of our family and the Los Angeles Rams, our thoughts are with everyone affected by the unfathomable fires and destruction," the Kroenke family said in a statement announcing the $1 million donation. "We are beyond grateful for the tireless efforts of our first responders who continue to protect our community as well as individuals who continue to help our neighbors in need.
"We know there are both immediate and long-term needs and our family and the Rams are committed to doing our part to support recovery efforts now and into the months and years ahead."
The Rams and Vikings will get their matchup underway at 8 p.m. ET on Monday night. The Chargers, meanwhile, face off with the Houston Texans on the road Saturday.
