Anthony Davis Donates $20K to Lakers Videographer Who Lost Home in LA Wildfires
Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis donated $20,000 to team videographer Rohan Ali following the loss of Ali's childhood house to the wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
Davis contributed the money to a GoFundMe page set up by Ali, as noted by TMZ Sports. Jarred Vanderbilt also donated $4,000 to the fund.
Ali is a Los Angeles native who started working with the Lakers since 2016, according to his LinkedIn. He has served as the team's senior video producer since 2021.
He wrote on the GoFundMe page that his parents "lost everything and were not able to retrieve any valuables or mementos" before their Altadena house was burned down in the Eaton fires.
According to Ali, money contributed to the GoFundMe will help his parents pay for "food, housing, transportation, and any other inevitable costs as they rebuild everything from the ground up."
Lakers head coach JJ Redick said Tuesday his family and his wife's family had been evacuated from the Pacific Palisades area due to the wildfires.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Thursday that his childhood home in the Palisades had been destroyed in the fires.
At least 10 people have died in the fires, which had destroyed almost 10,000 structures as of Thursday night, according to Reuters.
