Eric Dickerson 'Absolutely' Doesn't Want Saquon Barkley to Break His NFL Record
Some former NFL players are happy to see their records get broken by players from the new generation.
Eric Dickerson is not of the same mindset.
With Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley on the cusp of breaking his single-season rushing yards record, Dickerson doubled down on wanting his record to stand.

"Absolutely not!" Dickerson said, per USA Today's Jarrett Bell. "That doesn't even make sense. Like I told the guy earlier, I don't want nobody to break my record. He even said if he breaks it, he doesn't want anybody to break his. I get it."
Dickerson had a similar statement when asked about the record earlier this month.
"I don't think he'll break it. But if he breaks it, he breaks it," Dickerson told the Los Angeles Times' Sam Farmer. "Do I want him to break it? Absolutely not. I don't pull no punches on that. But I'm not whining about it. He had 17 games to do it? Hey, football is football. That's the way I look at it. If he's fortunate to get over 2,000 yards and get the record, it's a great record to have."
Dickerson set the record for the most rushing yards in a single season in 1984 when he amassed 2,105 yards for the Los Angeles Rams. Barkley has collected 2,005 rushing yards and has one game remaining to pass Dickerson's mark.
