Lions vs Saints: How High Could Score Get in Huge Wild Card Game?
The New Orleans Saints host the Detroit Lions Saturday night in a Wild Card Round playoff matchup that could very possibly give scorekeepers and statisticians carpal tunnel syndrome by the time all is said and done.
The game features the first and fifth-ranked offenses in the NFL this season, as well as a pair of quarterbacks in Drew Brees of the Saints and Matthew Stafford of the Lions that combined for a mind-boggling 10,514 passing yards and 87 touchdown passes this year.
Yes, you read those numbers right.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The quarterbacks aren't the only offensive stars on display in this contest, as the game also features arguably the NFL's best wide receiver in Calvin Johnson of the Lions, one of the league's top tight ends in Jimmy Graham of New Orleans, and a running back whose overall value to his team cannot be overstated in Darren Sproles of the Saints.
The two teams defenses did not fare nearly as well this season, however, with the Lions and Saints finishing a moribund 23rd and 24th respectively in the NFL in total defense, so in all likelihood neither squad is going to have a whole lot of trouble moving the ball down the field.
When the Lions and Saints met back in Week 13, there were plenty of offensive fireworks, with the Saints prevailing, 31-17.
It seems that the Las Vegas oddsmakers are predicting even more of a shootout in the rematch, with the over/under for tonight's game set at an eye-popping 59 total points.
I can hardly believe I'm saying this given that astronomical number, but were I a betting man I'd likely lay my lunch money on the over, as tonight's contest may well feature more extra points than three-and-outs.
PREDICTION: New Orleans 41, Detroit 30
