Cowboys Rumors: DeMarvion Overshown Set to Return Mid-to-Late 2025 After Knee Injury
Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown may return "mid-to-late next season" after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Given the severity of Overshown's knee injury, head coach Mike McCarthy expressed concern he could miss the entire 2025 campaign.
"I think that's fair," McCarthy said of a recovery timeline that long. "You have the surgery, and the rehab is a long process. I think that's very realistic."

The seriousness of Overshown's situation wasn't lost on teammate Micah Parsons, either. The star edge-rusher was emotional in the locker room after Dallas' 27-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
"It's like my little bro, bro," Parsons said, per ESPN's Todd Archer. "He doesn't deserve that either. He really don't. Just to understand what he's going to go through and to be there for him physically, mentally. It's just so challenging because of the year he was having. I really just don't think that's fair either."
The injury ended what was an encouraging rookie season for Overshown, who didn't play at all in 2023 because of a torn ACL. His 90 tackles are second on the team behind linebacker Eric Kendricks, and he's tied for second in sacks with five.
As a third-round pick, Overshown is signed through the 2026 season. In addition to what it means for his wider career, missing the entire 2025 campaign would be less than ideal when looking toward his first crack at free agency.
Getting back to 100 percent at some point next year would at least allow him to shake off some of the rust and set himself up for what could be a big season in 2026.
