MLB Rumors: Hyeseong Kim Expected to Be Posted for Teams Wednesday amid Mariners Buzz
Infielder Hyeseong Kim of the KBO League's Kiwoom Heroes is expected to be posted around noon ET on Wednesday, per Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
That posting will start a 30-day window for the 25-year-old to sign with an MLB team this offseason, Morosi added. He previously reported on the Seattle Mariners' interest in Kim on Nov. 6.

The second baseman hit .326 (.841 OPS) with 11 home runs, 75 RBI and 90 runs in 127 games for Kiwoom last season.
The Mariners need offensive help, particularly in the infield. Last year's team hung around the playoff picture before fading late, winning 85 games. Seattle hit just .224 as a team and finished 10th in the American League in runs scored (676).
The M's also have a hole at second base after buying out their team option on Jorge Polanco, making him a free agent.
Kim could be a huge help for a team that consistently struggled offensively last year. The M's tried to beef up their offense at the deadline, adding Randy Arozarena, Victor Robles and Justin Turner. But Seattle fell a game short of the AL Wild Card and three wins shy of the AL West title.
So it's back to the drawing board for a Seattle team that's been competitive recently but hasn't found a way to construct a deep playpff run.
Seattle has won between 85-90 games over the past four seasons, but it has only resulted in one postseason appearance. That occurred in 2022, when Seattle swept the Toronto Blue Jays 2-0 in the American League Wild Card Series before falling 3-0 to the Houston Astros in the AL Division Series.
Perhaps Kim could be an answer for an infield that sorely needs more offensive production. But he'll naturally have interest from other teams as well.
Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors provided his insight on Nov. 26.
"The Mariners have already been linked to Kim, and he ought to command a fair bit of interest from other teams once his free agency begins in earnest," Adams wrote. "The A's, Royals, Pirates, Braves, Yankees and Brewers make varying levels of sense as speculative fits."
Ultimately, Kim will be an interesting name to watch going forward this month as infield-needy teams vie for his services.
