LeBron James' Triple-Double Excites NBA Fans as Lakers Beat Raptors Amid Davis Injury
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James played a secondary role to Anthony Davis for much of Sunday's matchup against the Toronto Raptors, but when Davis exited the game with an eye injury, the four-time NBA MVP took over the game.
James recorded his third triple-double of the season with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 16 assists to help lead the Lakers to a 123-103 win in front of their home fans at Crypto.com Arena. Davis had 22 points, four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal before being ruled out.
In addition to James' strong performance, Austin Reaves had a game-high 27 points and six assists while D'Angelo Russell had 15 points off the bench.
But the night belonged to James, as fans were impressed by the 39-year-old's ability to take control of the game down the stretch:
The Lakers are certainly hoping that Davis won't miss too much time, but they should be comforted in knowing that James can still dominate when necessary.
Los Angeles (6-4) will look to keep the momentum going when it meets the Memphis Grizzlies (7-4) on Wednesday.
