Novak Djokovic Advances, Two Matches Away from First-Career Olympic Gold
2 of 2
Novak Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets to reach the semifinal round.
While the Greek controlled the pace early and excelled with his one-handed backhand, the 24-time Grand Slam champion reinforced the notion that even at 37 years old, he will not back away from the most physical moments.
Although the Serbian needed a medical timeout in the second set, he still found a way to survive and advance.
While Djokovic has not won a grand slam this year, he has historically dominated his semifinal opponent, Lorenzo Musetti, and is expected to do so again, reaching his first Olympic final.
