Rob Manfred: MLB Will Have 'Conversations' About All-Star Game Jerseys Amid Criticism
Since one of the defining MLB stories in 2024 is about the jerseys, it's appropriate that the All-Star Game uniforms would cause a stir.
Amid criticisms of jerseys that will be worn during the Midsummer Classic, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred told reporters on Tuesday he's "aware of the sentiment" around them and there "will be conversations" about returning to players wearing their specific team's jersey next year.

It's been a rough time for jerseys in MLB. The conversation started in spring training when players were critical of how the redesigned uniforms felt.
The MLB Players Association also relayed concerns to the commissioner's office that players had about the pants. There were fewer tailored options available, as well as the fact that they are see-through.
Nike, which has been the official jersey supplier for MLB since 2019, said in a statement with the league in May that it was working to address the concerns and would likely return to larger name-on-back lettering and full pant customization for players by the start of the 2025 season.
The All-Star Game used to feature players wearing their own team's jersey, but that changed in 2021 as part of MLB's deal with Nike. This will mark the fourth straight year the apparel giant has developed a custom jersey specifically for the showcase game.
Since the 2024 All-Star Game is being played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the jersey is meant to invoke the state's western heritage.
Players will put the All-Star jerseys on display Tuesday night for the game. The American League will host the National League at 8 p.m. ET.
