Dolphins' Top Trade Candidates Ahead of 2024 Training Camp
The Miami Dolphins are deeper at running back and wide receiver in 2024.
That is a great sign for the Dolphins' contention in the AFC East and in the conference as a whole, but it could also decrease the playing time of a few players.
Jeff Wilson Jr. and Braxton Berrios will be most affected by the arrivals at the offensive skill positions.
Wilson could begin training camp as low as the No. 4 spot on the running back depth chart. Berrios is already in the No. 4 spot at wide receiver after Odell Beckham Jr.'s arrival.
Wilson and Berrios are the most intriguing trade options on the roster because of where they stand on the depth chart. Any other members of the roster are harder to justify a trade because the Dolphins are working to build toward a championship and do not want to let anyone depart.
Jeff Wilson Jr.

Jeff Wilson Jr. could be close to the end of his Dolphins career.
De'Von Achane's breakout 2023 campaign and the fourth-round selection of Jaylen Wright brought more speed to Miami's rushing attack.
Raheem Mostert is still at the top of the depth chart. Achane and Wright will be pushing him in the competition for snaps.
Wilson may not have a path to any playing time with two young running backs ahead of him. His preseason focus should be to perform well enough to catch another team's attention.
Running backs are always needed across the league because of injuries, and Wilson shines in the shop window in August, the Dolphins could get a late-round pick in return for him instead of outright releasing him.
Braxton Berrios

Braxton Berrios fills a direct need for the Dolphins at least right now.
Berrios is penciled in to be Miami's top return man, which likely keeps him on the roster despite not having a big role on offense.
However, the Dolphins could see something in Wright's speed that makes him an ideal candidate to return kicks and punts.
If that is the case, Berrios could be viewed as surplus on the Dolphins roster. He likely is not seeing much time on offense unless Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle or Odell Beckham Jr. goes down with an injury.
It may take a lot for a rookie to beat out Berrios in the return game, but it is a possibility, and that could lead to another team valuing Berrios much more than the Dolphins do.
Like Wilson, Berrios would not bring back a significant return in draft picks, but the Dolphins could at least get something for him if they find another return man.
Mike White

The Dolphins do not have many other tradeable assets because of where they sit in the AFC.
The goal is to push the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills with a loaded roster and not trade away any players.
Mike White could fall into the list of tradeable players depending on what happens league wide with quarterback injuries.
The NFL was decimated by quarterback absences last season, and if the same issue comes about in 2024, teams could at least inquire about White's availability.
Of course, Miami has to trust Skylar Thompson is a worth backup to Tua Tagovailoa to move on from White, but if that is the case, it could at least entertain offers for its backup signal-caller.
