Dodgers' Updated Trade Targets with 2024 MLB Deadline Approaching
The Los Angeles Dodgers are once again part of baseball's top-tier of contenders this year, but with a long list of injuries this could be a busy trade deadline to shore up the roster for the second half.
Both middle infield spots are a question mark with Gavin Lux struggling at the plate and Mookie Betts injured, the starting rotation would benefit from some additional veteran depth, and the bullpen needs at least one more late-inning arm.
They have the prospect pieces to make a blockbuster splash, and they have also shown a knack for finding under-the-radar value, with last year's move to acquire Ryan Brasier from the Boston Red Sox a perfect example.
Ahead we've highlighted one shortstop, one starting pitcher and one relief Pitcher who should be on the team's radar next month.
SS Bo Bichette, Toronto Blue Jays

The Dodgers let Corey Seager walk in free agency, then did the same with Trea Turner the following year in favor of homegrown infielder Gavin Lux, and the end result was Mookie Betts shifting from the outfield to become a full-time shortstop for the first time.
Now they have a chance to rectify that situation with a run at Bo Bichette on the trade market.
The 26-year-old has been one of baseball's best offensive players the past several seasons, and while he is off to a slow start this year, his track record makes him a great buy-low target who could benefit from a change of scenery.
He is in the second season of a three-year, $33.6 million deal, and would be a candidate for a long-term extension immediately following a trade similar to what the Dodgers did with Tyler Glasnow.
RHP Lucas Erceg, Oakland Athletics

A two-way player in college who was originally drafted as a third baseman, Lucas Erceg made the full-time move to pitching in 2022 and has quickly developed into a quality setup option for the Oakland Athletics.
The 29-year-old has a 3.62 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 10.9 K/9 with two saves and nine holds in 27 appearances, and he has high-octane stuff with a 98.4 mph fastball and a secondary arsenal that includes a changeup, sinker and slider.
With club control through 2029, he will not even be arbitration-eligible for the first time until after the 2026 season, but selling high now would be Oakland's best chance to maximize their return.
SP Erick Fedde, Chicago White Sox

With Walker Buehler, James Paxton and Ryan Yarbrough all headed for free agency during the offseason and Clayton Kershaw's future up in the air, the Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking for rotation help during the offseason while they wait on a number of young pitchers to return from injury.
That could make Erick Fedde the ideal target.
The 31-year-old struggled to find his footing during his time with the Washington Nationals, but broke out overseas last year when he won KBO MVP honors before returning stateside on a two-year, $15 million deal.
He has a 3.05 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 86 strikeouts in 94.1 innings, and his team-friendly $7.5 million salary for 2025 makes him an attractive trade chip who is more than just a two-month rental.
