Under Armour All-America Game 2012: Future CFB Stars Who Will Turn Heads
Some of the best high school players in the country are going to step on the field at the same time in the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game.
Some players have committed, some have not. But all of these players have their choice of schools to attend. For many, this will be the first opportunity to see how they play against other highly-recruited studs.
Eddie Goldman, DT
Listed as the No. 2 player on the Rivals 100 list, Goldman is the highest ranked player in the game. At 6'4", 310 pounds, this kid will have his pick of schools. The young defensive tackle can't do anything but turn heads.
He'll be a stud in college football. This is the kind of player that can be plugged in the middle and take over a game. Going against the top high school linemen, he'll do just that tonight. When Goldman is on the field, his impact will be immense.
Johnathan Gray, RB
Stop and think about this for a second. Gray has the Texas state record for scoring. Think about the great players that have come though the state of Texas (Earl Campbell, Adrian Peterson), and realize that Gray's name sits atop all of them. That's impressive.
He'll give Longhorns fans plenty of reason to have hope for the next four years. Gray runs a 4.4. 40-yard dash, and ran for over 3,000 yards and had nearly 60 touchdowns last season. Gray's speed will be showcased in this event. He'll be a fun one to watch.
Mario Edwards, DE
The Florida State commit was a dominant player on a dominant unit in Texas. That tells you all that you need to know about how good he is. At 6'4", 275 points, he's the prototypical defensive end that has taken over the world of football, giving quarterbacks nightmares.
He'll be stepping onto Florida State's roster next season. Tonight, his raw athletic ability will shine against the top players in high school football.
Jameis Winston, QB
Florida State has an embarrassment of riches coming their way next season. In addition to having an elite pass rusher in Edwards, they're getting a dynamite dual-threat quarterback in Winston.
He threw for over 2,000 yards in his senior season, which isn't too spectacular on its own. The fact that he also rushed for 1,000 yards makes 2,000 passing yards quite impressive. With Florida State's talent, Winston will be a star when he steps into action. Today, his legs and arms will provide a nice preview.
