NFL Draft 2024 Rumors: Malik Nabers Visiting Chargers, Cardinals amid Giants Buzz
LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers is meeting with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday and has a meeting scheduled with the Los Angeles Chargers on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.
The 2023 All-American has been in high demand of late with the 2024 NFL draft less than a month out.
The Cardinals and Chargers are in similar positions in that they suffered notable losses to their receiving corps.
Marquise Brown left as a free agent and while his tenure in Arizona didn't meet its expectations, he averaged 49.3 receiving yards per game in his two years with the team. Rondale Moore was also shipped out to the Atlanta Falcons in return for quarterback Desmond Ridder.
Los Angeles, meanwhile, had to jettison Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, largely for financial reasons. Williams was a salary cap casualty and Allen was traded to the Bears for the 110th overall pick in the draft.
Nabers would naturally be a fit on either team. He's the No. 7 overall player and the second-best receiver behind Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. on Bleacher Report's big board.
"Overall, it's easy to see how Nabers could make an instant impact in the NFL," B/R NFL scout Derrik Klassen wrote in his scouting report. "His combination of speed, quickness and yards-after-the-catch skills will translate into explosive plays right away. Nabers can be a twitchy, field-stretching Z from day one with the potential to grow into a more well-rounded player."
The Tigers star would be an attainable target for the Cardinals (No. 4) and Chargers (No. 5) based on their current positions in the draft. In addition, he could still be on the board were Arizona or Los Angeles to trade back a few picks.
