Legendary college basketball broadcaster Dick Vitale is hoping to return to announcing games next season after sharing in December that he no longer has vocal cord cancer, according to Jordan Mendoza of USA Today.
"I miss so much the entire college spirit at the games as I always love being able to share time with the players, coaches, fans, media and especially my ESPN colleagues," he said.
He added that he's still recovering vocally due to the various treatment he had to undergo.

"It will take more time before I get the strength back in my voice," Vitale noted. "The 35 radiation treatments I had for my vocal cord cancer wiped out the cancer but created some problems to my vocal cords."
The 84-year-old has been broadcasting college basketball since 1979, serving as one of the most iconic personalties in the sport.
