Wolves' Rudy Gobert Says He Had Trouble Breathing but Avoided Broken Bone After Fall
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert took a fall during Tuesday night's matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, and while he appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario, he was still feeling the effects after the game.
Gobert told reporters that nothing was broken, but he felt like something was out of place in his chest area after the fall and he had trouble breathing and moving when he went back to the locker room:
Gobert played 33 minutes and put up eight points and 11 rebounds before exiting the game in the fourth quarter. The Timberwolves earned a 118-100 win after overcoming a 22-point first-half deficit to snap a two-game skid and improve to 45-21.
Minnesota is certainly hoping that Gobert won't be forced to miss time, as his absence would be another blow to the team's ailing frontcourt. Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns is sidelined after undergoing surgery on his torn meniscus.
The Timberwolves are hoping to have Gobert in the lineup when they return to action on Saturday against the Utah Jazz.
