NFL Fans Hype Derrick Henry, Lamar Jackson as 'Dangerous' for Ravens' Super Bowl Push
The Baltimore Ravens added a major dimension to what was already one of the NFL's best rushing attacks Tuesday.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported running back Derrick Henry agreed to a two-year deal to join two-time MVP Lamar Jackson.
Thanks to Jackson's dual-threat abilities, the Ravens ranked first in rushing yards (156.5) and third in yards per carry (4.9) in 2023. Now they're getting a four-time Pro Bowler who continues to be an effective option out of the backfield.

Henry may no longer be at his peak, but he went for 1,167 yards and 12 scores on the ground.
You can't blame fans for getting excited about a Henry/Jackson tandem.
The enthusiasm could of course be premature because the warning signs are certainly there. Henry turned 30 in January and has led the NFL in carries in four of the last five years. Nobody should be completely shocked if a decline comes quickly because few running backs at this stage of their careers age gracefully.
Last offseason, plenty of Ravens fans were talking themselves into Odell Beckham Jr. being the missing piece or making a meaningful impact, and that didn't come to pass. Granted, that was a different situation since Beckham was coming off a torn ACL that cost him an entire season.
At the very least, Henry should be an upgrade over Gus Edwards, both in terms of regular-season production and the way he can anchor the running game in the playoffs.
