Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"My next objective is to complete my treatments, then get back to playing the game that I love," he wrote. "Thank you for your prayers and support as I continue this journey."
Horton stepped away from the team in November for what was then an undisclosed health issue.
"I'm currently dealing with a personal health matter that will keep me away from the team for an indefinite period of time," he said in a statement at the time. "I want to thank my family, my teammates and the entire Houston Texans organization for the support and care they have already provided me. I will provide updates from time to time, but my main focus right now is on my health and recovery. Thank you, and God bless."
The 2023 campaign was his first in the NFL after the Texans selected him out of TCU with a fourth-round draft pick.
He appeared in 10 games and tallied 13 tackles and one fumble recovery.
Houston ended up winning the AFC South with a 10-7 record last season and will have high expectations once again in 2024.
And Horton is working his way back to the team with the hopes of returning to the field to add to those high expectations in the near future.
