NFL Fans Hype Eagles, Troll Giants After Saquon Barkley's Contract with Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Eagles collapsed down the stretch of the 2023 campaign and lost in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs just one season after reaching the Super Bowl, so they responded by adding one of the league's best running backs on Monday.
Saquon Barkley is headed to Philadelphia on a three-year, $37.75 million deal, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Penn State product is one of the league's top playmakers out of the backfield, so this deal led to plenty of reaction on social media:
The Eagles will be a dream offense for fantasy football players with Jalen Hurts, Barkley, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith leading the way. Opposing defenses will not be able to stack the box with Brown and Smith on the outside, so Barkley should have far more running lanes than he did with the New York Giants.
And the end result will likely be another excellent season.
He tallied 962 yards and six touchdowns on the ground to go with 41 catches for 280 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games last season. He also ran for a career-best 1,312 yards in 2022, which was the third time he cracked the 1,000-yard mark as a runner.
Barkley is a two-time Pro Bowler and someone who can hurt opposing defenses on the ground or as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.
He was almost always the focal point of the Giants' offense, which meant opposing defenses locked in on him and game-planned around containing him. That won't be the case with the Eagles, so he will surely average better than the 3.9 yards per carry he posted last season in a lackluster Giants offense.
Philadelphia is eyeing another return to the Super Bowl in 2024, and its offense is now far more dangerous following this move.
