Report: 76ers' Tyrese Maxey Out vs. Nets After Experiencing Concussion-Like Symptoms
After taking a knee to his head in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Dallas Mavericks, Tyrese Maxey is going to miss the Philadelphia 76ers next game.
Per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Maxey won't play on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets and he traveled back to Philadelphia for further evaluation after experiencing concussion-like symptoms in the past 24 hours.
Maxey was driving into the lane when he lost his footing. The back of his head hit Derrick Jones Jr.'s knee as he was falling to the ground.

Buddy Hield entered the game as Maxey left to get evaluated. The television broadcast said the medical staff was evaluating Maxey's balance on the bench before going to the locker room.
At the start of the fourth quarter, Maxey checked back into the game after being cleared by the medical staff. He played all 12 minutes of the final period, scoring five points on five free-throw attempts.
The Sixers were able to hold on for a 120-116 victory over the Mavs. It was their first time winning back-to-back games since Feb. 10-12, but they are still just 6-8 in 14 games since Joel Embiid injured his knee in a loss to the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 30.
Losing Maxey for any length of time only adds to the concerns for the 76ers entering the final stretch of the regular season. They have fallen to fifth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 35-25 record.
The Orlando Magic and Miami Heat are both one game behind the Sixers in the loss column. The Indiana Pacers (34-28) are the only other team in the East with fewer than 30 losses.
Maxey is having a breakout season that saw him earn his first All-Star selection. The 23-year-old is averaging 26.0 points and 6.3 assists per game in 55 starts.
Philadelphia will play three games in four days starting with Tuesday's matchup against the Nets. It will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday and New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.
