Report: Texans' Laremy Tunsil Had Surgery on Knee Injury After 2024 NFL Playoffs

Andrew PetersFeb 29, 2024

Houston Texans offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil had knee surgery following the end of the season, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

According to Rapoport, the surgery was to repair an issue that caused him to spend time on the injury report this season. Rapoport reported that he will make a swift recovery.

Tunsil, 28, was the 13th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss. After coming into the league in 2016, he spent three seasons with the Miami Dolphins before joining the Texans in 2019.

This season, Tunsil had a 73.4 PFF grade and played 77.25 percent of the Texans' offensive snaps. In 2022, he played 100 percent of Houston's snaps.

Last March, Tunsil signed a three-year, $75 million deal that will keep him with the Texans until at least 2026.

Next year, Tunsil and the Texans' offensive line will be looking to have a better season protecting quarterback CJ Stroud. Houston gave up 2.5 sacks per game and had just 96.9 rushing yards per game this year.

Despite a shaky offensive front, the Texans put together a solid season, clinching the AFC South and reaching the divisional round, where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens.
