Suns' Bradley Beal Played vs. Pacers With Broken Nose Injury, Frank Vogel Says
Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal put it all on the line on Friday night in hopes of helping his team defeat the Indiana Pacers.
Following a 133-131 loss to the Pacers, Suns head coach Frank Vogel told reporters that Beal likely played through a broken nose after taking a shot to the face in the third quarter.
"Bradley Beal was out there trying to play with probably a broken nose, toughing it out," Vogel said. "Credit to him for just being on the floor."
Vogel added that he's "concerned" Beal could miss some time moving forward.
With just over eight minutes remaining in the third quarter, Beal planted himself in an attempt to draw a charging foul on Pacers center Myles Turner. As Turner gathered his step and drove toward the hoop, he struck Beal in the face with his elbow, sending the three-time All-Star to the court.
Turner was whistled for a foul and Beal went back to the locker room after the hit.
Beal finished the game with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes.
If the 30-year-old misses any time, it'll be a tough blow for the Suns as he has missed a significant amount of time this season due to injuries—mainly a back ailment.
The Suns acquired Beal in a trade with the Washington Wizards over the summer in hopes he would help lead the franchise on a deep playoff run alongside Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
However, considering he has had a tough time staying healthy, there could be some concern about his availability when the end of the regular season nears.
Beal entered Friday's game averaging 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 20 games while shooting 51.3 percent from the floor and 39.2 percent from deep.
Friday's loss dropped the Suns to 26-19 on the season. They sit sixth in the Western Conference.
If Beal misses time, the Suns will turn to Eric Gordon, Saben Lee and Jordan Goodwin to pick up the slack in his absence.
