LeBron James Reportedly Heard Saying Bronny Could Play for Lakers 'Right Now. Easy.'
Could Bronny James suit up for the Los Angeles Lakers right now? LeBron James thinks so.
Following Friday's 127-113 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, LeBron James was reportedly overheard saying that he thinks his son, who currently plays for the USC Trojans as a freshman, could easily suit up for the Purple and Gold amid the team's struggles.
"He could play for us right now. Easy," LeBron said.
The Lakers have dropped four straight games and are 2-8 in their last 10. They now sit 11th in the Western Conference with a 17-19 record.
While the Purple and Gold are struggling, LeBron James saying that his son could play in the NBA right now is a stretch.
Through six games with the Trojans this season, Bronny James, who plays off the bench, is averaging 7.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 31.6 percent from deep.
Bronny James still has a ways to go in his development, and when the time is right, he'll make the jump to the NBA.
The Lakers, meanwhile, will likely try to make some additions ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline in hopes of becoming a true playoff contender.
