WWE 1/2/2012: 'It's Time... It's Time...'
All of the speculation that has been piling up like driftwood on a beach will soon be over. Thankfully.
Unfortunately, I do not believe that my dream of seeing Vader back in the WWE powerbombing any and every one is the conclusion of this angle. Oh, how my heart yearns for those days.
There are a few things I do not appreciate about the current WWE.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
1) Hyped up angles such as "It Begins". They are indeed intriguing. But yet I can't help but think guys like Daniel Bryan are falling in to the shadows. I am a wrestling fan, not a sports entertainment fan. The WWE has been better at giving us wrestlers as champions. And not the same formulaic stuff like Hogan v2.0b, as is the case with Cena (I do not hate on Cena. I think he is fine. I just wish the guy would perform different matches besides his usual one trick pony shows he does on RAW). Daniel Bryan on the other hand has a very dynamic skill set. He reminds me of the days of kayfabe. The new World Champ can give you one of the best shows for your money.
2) I do not like the reasons why Cena is so hated by fans. He is often swarmed by a few heels and then turns into Super Cena. Sending all the heels to the back. Very unrealistic. Part of the glamor of wrestling is allowing us to believe in people. This is some thing that the WWE could very easily fix. Instead of barraging (Wade, I am looking at you...) Cena, or any other top babyface for that matter, with a whole gaggle of heels.... wait for it... wait for it... BRING BACK MANAGERS... How hard would that be? You know it was completely believable when Bobby "the Brain" Heenan would interfere in a match. And afterwards the babyface would clean house. Or the Heenan Family would beat down the face in mass.
3) Story lines and dialogue. As pointed out in another article on the Bleach Report, the conspiracy angle ended with a tangled mess and fizzled out. I think the WWE probably has too many people in their creative team pulling in too many different directions at once.
My other contention is that the dialogue in the WWE is baddddddddd. It is scripted up by writers, and wrestlers can no longer develop themselves how they think they should develop themselves. A lot of the wrestling I grew up had wrestlers giving their own promos. They could be hit or miss. But usually the dialogue was far better than today's. Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair anyone?
I know I may come across critical of the WWE. But I feel like when I watch the shows my senses are being completed barraged (Wade, I still have my eye on you...) and/or my intelligence insulted.
One of the things I was impressed with recently was the Ziggler and Ryder feud. It was fluid and felt natural. If I was VKM, I would think about what went right there, and try to get my creative team to realize that some times you just do not need all the hoopla that the WWE relies so heavily on.
Tonight will be interesting. It will either change the game, or it will be an epic face palm moment. I am hoping for the former. I really do want to be able to watch the WWE shows with more passion. As the other option (TNA) is really not a good option.
