Why Some Wrestlers Are Liked By Fans, and Why Others Are Hated!
This may sound like a crazy title. But follow me here, I am not talking about heels and faces in wrestling. Because we all know one is supposed to be the bad guy and the other is supposed to be a good guy.
But sometimes that means nothing to the wrestling fan. And we see it all the time. With a heel, many love in Randy Orton and for a face, people hate in John Cena. Every time I see a John Cena article, it starts out like this or similar:
"I want to start off by saying I am not a big John Cena fan, but.." and you fill in the blanks here. Yet we don't see an Orton article starting off like that or even a Hogan or Batista article.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
It seems like it is only Cena who gets the shaft. Wrestling fans will tell you, at least many that say they are, that Cena lakes in the technical wrestling department. That he does only a few moves a match and they are always the same.
So I have looked up many of his matches on YouTube to prove he does put out more moves we don't see. Now, we all know he has a superman-type part of himself, to where he will be down one minute and come back the next.
He will move around as if he was never hurting in the match, but please. Can you figure out where you have seen this before? Well I know it is tough, but watch ANY FREAKIN WRESTLING MATCH!
It has the same thing, one guy gets to hurting and comes back to win and never looks like he was hurting. The main thing with Cena is that he does, when he goes superman a few moves as so.
Flying shoulder block, spinout powerbomb, "You can't see Me," then the either F-U or STFU. And then he wins the match. But of course that is at the end of a match and is not the only thing he does.
I hate having to defend Cena the whole time, but who else will? See, the B/R writers will tell you that they don't like him; I know they will. See, many of them are the problem and the reason for why people hate Cena.
They write articles about him slamming the guy, and of course it is their opinion. But then the other fans who are either sort of new, casual watchers, or non-wrestling fans are convinced Cena is bad because every says it is so.
It is like they have not got an opinion of their own. The reason is that he is so popular, I think. Hogan hardly, if ever, had articles written about how bad he was in the ring. With his big boot, scoop slam, and leg drop.
Or Batista, wth the little he does in the ring. But that is my point. See, people love to hate on Cena for the simple fact of they just hate Cena as a person. They try to put it on his wrestling, but really you could say the same about others.
They absolutely hate the fact Cena is liked, and realize but writing things slamming him others will follow. And they have as you can see. When do we see an article slamming Hogan or Batista? As I said earlier, you don't.
If you do it is rare and likely not see by others. We like Randy Orton because, first off, he is exciting, and that is cool. He says things that we want him to say. He has a very exciting finisher in the RKO he does.
Orton is a rare bread: He can wrestle with a face or heel and be liked or favored in every one of them. We call him a tweener.
Everyone knows I am a fan of Orton and of Cena. And I have no problem sharing my opinion with anyone. I feel we don't have enough of that. Everyone writes something people want to hear.
Like an article about the WWE Title, or about The Undertaker. Or like I mentioned, an article slamming Cena. And the reason why is that they want it to be agreed with. They don't want people to come out and hate what they say.
They could actually like a wrestler but slam him because it is apart of the status quo. So they write it and then others seem to do the same. Am I the only one who sees this?
If I am the only writing my real opinion, does that mean I am one to lead? If that is true, we are in trouble, and B/R writers will to you the same. If I have to lead this kind of writing, then, well, I will do it.
It seems I may be alone, but if everyone shared their true opinion on people and not seeming to apologize for writing something, then we would be better off. We truly would.
I hate reading articles about a wrestler who is good, but since everyone else hated them, they writer has to either apologize for writing it and taking reads to it or hate on them just to have people think they are on their side.
We as fans are the reason why wrestlers are liked and disliked. If you actually shared your opinion and broke the status quot by saying what was truly on your mind regardless of it being something everyone liked things would be better.
Trust me, I know sharing your opinion can be bad sometimes, but in the end, you have respect, if not from your peers, at least for yourself.
Am I the only one who thinks this?
