Oklahoma State Football: 5 Most NFL-Ready Cowboys

Bradlee RossJun 7, 2018

Having NFL-caliber talent comes with the territory of being a Top 10 team in the nation. We all know that the Oklahoma State Cowboys have a top-notch receiver prospect in Justin Blackmon, but what other guys do they have who will be playing on Sundays next year?

Most of these guys aren't talked about much, but each of them is ready to make an impact at the next level.

Here is Justin Blackmon and four other Cowboys ready to make the jump.

Justin Blackmon

1 of 5

Was it any secret who would top this list?

Justin Blackmon is the top receiving talent in the upcoming draft. His 1,336 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns were among the best in the nation. He also has great hands and uses his frame well to keep the ball from defenders.

Whichever team nags Blackmon will definitely not regret it.

Markelle Martin

2 of 5

Markelle Martin is one of the best free safety prospects in the 2012 draft.

He's accounted for 66 tackles and two forced fumbles this season. At 6'1", Martin is extremely athletic and closes on the ball very quickly. He is ready to step into an NFL system today.

Levy Adcock

3 of 5

Levy Adcock comes in as the third best NFL prospect on this Cowboy team.

Adcock has good size for a left tackle at 6'6" and 322 pounds. He is a great pass protector and good at run-blocking as well. He struggles with his footwork at times, but has very good athleticism for the position.

Brandon Weeden

4 of 5

Brandon Weeden would be a first-round talent were it not for his age. At 28 years old, Weeden's age will scare some teams away.

Weeden has the right body type to play the position in the NFL at 6'4" and 220 pounds.

He also has an extremely accurate arm and decent arm strength. He needs to improve on his footwork, and he must also prove that he isn't just a system quarterback.

Josh Cooper

5 of 5

Josh Cooper is a bit of a dark horse in this category. A Wes Welker-type of receiver, Cooper isn't as good as Welker, but is the same type of receiver.

Cooper has been a very solid slot receiver for Oklahoma State—catching 64 passes this season for 660 yards and three touchdowns.

He's a long shot for the next level, but so was Welker.
