Tom Brady's Net Worth, Career Earnings, Broadcast Contract After Retiring from NFL
Tom Brady announced his retirement Wednesday, finishing his career as the highest-paid player in NFL history.
The money is well-deserved for the most decorated player in the league's history, winning seven Super Bowl titles with three MVP awards. However, it's the longevity that has truly allowed him to pull away from the field, playing 23 seasons.
Brady made $97.8 million across his three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after making $235.2 million in 20 years with the New England Patriots, per Spotrac.
Of course, this record won't stand for long.
Aaron Rodgers has already earned $305.6 million in his career and is slated to make $59.5 million next year, which would put him in the No. 1 spot.
These numbers will only grow with the rising cost of quarterbacks. Nine players currently average $40 million per year on their contracts or more, while Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert could reset the market with their deals. Brady never made $40 million in a single season.
Don't worry about Brady, though, as he already agreed to a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox to join the broadcast booth.
The 45-year-old has also done well outside of his normal contracts, ranking as the ninth highest-paid athlete in the world in 2022 thanks mostly to his $52 million in off-field earnings. He led all NFL players with $83.9 million in total earnings despite being well behind others in on-field salary.
It all adds up to an estimated net worth of $512 million, per Weston Blasi of Barron's.
