2012 NFL Free Agents: Matt Flynn Will Cash in This Offseason After Record Day
Benching Aaron Rodgers for the final game of the season turned out to be a win-win situation of great magnitude for both the Packers team, and even moreso for QB Matt Flynn.
With a meaningless game left in Week 17 for the Green Bay Packers, Flynn made a bold statement league-wide with his record-setting performance to finish off the year.
His 480 yards and six-touchdown performance was easily one of the better performances by a QB in both Green Bay Packers and NFL history. In the win over the Detroit Lions, Flynn would throw two of his six touchdowns in the final eight minutes of play.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Both the 480 yards and six touchdowns go down as the most in Green Bay Packers history.
Talk about one heck of a performance.
What makes the feat all the more impressive is that Flynn is a player that would have never gotten a chance to show off his skills had it not been for such a stellar season for these Packers.
With a 14-1 record and home-field clinched going into the game, the Packers gave Flynn a chance to shine, and he came through in a significant way.
What makes Flynn a player that is especially marketable is the fact that there have been QB failures league-wide this season. The Chicago Bears losing Jay Cutler to injury and the Colts losing Manning to injury, as well as the QB performance problems with teams like the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins, makes Flynn all the more marketable of a player.
Even in Arizona, where QB Kevin Kolb has been underachieving since signing a fat contract extension, Flynn would be a positive replacement at the position.
As there are a handful of teams in the NFL in need of a new starting QB, Flynn makes all the more positive of a statement with his breakout performance.
He might as well tweet it, as he is now easily the hottest QB hitting the market in 2012.
