Brock Lesnar: Retired UFC Star Should Not Be on WWE Radar
Brock Lesnar's mixed martial arts career is over. He made the shocking announcement after losing to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141. There has been a lot of speculation about what his future holds, with the most common answer being that he needs to go back to WWE.
But the question that I keep asking myself is, why would WWE want him? What does Lesnar in 2012 really mean?
Now, before we get way ahead of ourselves, let's not forget that Lesnar's contract with UFC isn't over. According to the Los Angeles Times, he still has fights left on the deal that he signed with the company, which means that he would need to get their OK before doing anything else.

As for Lesnar in WWE, is he going to return at WrestleMania? Does that really matter if he does?
WrestleMania 28 is going to draw based on how strong the match between The Rock and John Cena is booked. Anything else that WWE puts on the show is secondary.
So, WWE would be wasting Lesnar's return match at an event where he is not the main event. That is bad business.
Lesnar does not have the same marketability that he did when he was the UFC heavyweight champion. If he goes back to WWE, he is just a guy who couldn't work in another sport trying to cash in on whatever celebrity he has left in a fake sport.
So, there is not going to be that crossover appeal that WWE might have hoped for when Lesnar was on top of the world.
Also, you have the question of how much Lesnar is going to be willing to work. He hated the WWE schedule during his first tour with the company from 2002-2004, which is why he left to pursue other ventures.
Is he going to get the same kind of deal that Shawn Michaels had, where he would just work television tapings and pay-per-views? And if he does get that, who is to say that Lesnar won't get tired of that and want to walk away in a few months?
Lesnar is not going to come back after everything that he has gone through and be the same wrestler that he was before. He is not going to do the same kinds of things that he did before.
WWE fans only want Lesnar back because they are frustrated with the product they see right now, but it does not do the company any good to invest time and money in someone when they need to focus on building up new, young stars.
Lesnar serves WWE no purpose right now, so for Vince McMahon to even entertain the idea of bringing him back is even more ridiculous than blowing himself up in a limousine.
