WWE: The 10 Celebrities Who Would Fit Best as Guests on Raw & at Wrestlemania
Celebrities and the WWE go together like spaghetti and meatballs.
Whether we like it or not, the two have become almost inseparable, as some of the biggest names from music, the big screen and professional sports have come to the WWE.
They've appeared at SummerSlam, hosted Monday Night Raw and even competed at WrestleMania.
The celebrity involvement in the WWE has been met with mixed reaction—like with anything else, some love it and some hate it.
But if we are going to see celebrities hosting Raw or appearing at WrestleMania, it's important that WWE officials choose those celebrities wisely.
Here are 10 celebrities who would best fit as guests on Raw and at WrestleMania.
10. Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider
1 of 10Adam Sandler may be in the midst of a long lind of bad movies after being one the top acts in Hollywood from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, but he'd still be welcome in the WWE.
Sandler and his buddy Rob Schneider were in attendance at WrestleMania 21, and Sandler has crossed paths with several pro wrestlers throughout his career.
There was, of course, Sandler's infamous scene with The Big Show in The Waterboy, and he also starred in The Longest Yard alongside Steve Austin, Goldberg, Kevin Nash and The Great Khali.
Sandler is a known WWE fan, and celebrities who actually know what's going on in pro wrestling are generally the ones who have more success on Raw or even at WrestleMania.
I personally think Sandler would make a great host of Raw, especially if he brought Schneider and the rest of his crew that appears in just about every movie with him along for the ride too.
Sure, Sandler's sucking up the screen with movies like Jack and Jill these days, but he's still a funny dude.
9. John McCain
2 of 10John McCain doesn't exactly scream excitement, but as John Laurinaitis is currently proving, that isn't always necessary.
Instead of getting over in spite of being boring, Laurinaitis is getting over because he's boring.
I could certainly see McCain doing the same thing.
He may be less than thrilling to listen to, and he may make you want to stab yourself in the eye at times, but it works.
As you can see in the video above, McCain has that dry sense of humor that can actually be pretty entertaining if used properly.
And given that McCain makes a living off of giving speeches that other people have written for him, the creative team would love him.
8. 50 Cent
3 of 1050 Cent was the man behind Floyd Mayweather's theme song at WrestleMania 24, and at one point, he was even rumored to join Mayweather on his way to the ring for his match against The Big Show.
Forget seeing 50 Cent accompany someone to the ring, though. I want to see him in it.
50 Cent is one of those rare celebrities who could wrestle a match or get involved in a major angle and look like he could go toe-to-toe with any of the WWE superstars.
Yeah, the dude is absolutely jacked.
I'd love to see 50 Cent in a WWE ring because if he can handle getting shot nine times, then he can certainly handle a match in the WWE.
7. Jim Carrey
4 of 10Similarly to Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey's movie career isn't what is used to be.
But, also like Sandler, he's still a funny guy and someone who has connections with the WWE.
Carrey has worked with the WWE in the past, getting involved in a minor angle with WWE Diva Layla back in 2008, and he's a legitimate WWE fan.
If we're getting Ace Ventura Jim Carrey and not Yes Man Jim Carrey, then we should be good. Carrey used to be one of the funniest men in Hollywood, and he still can be hilarious when given the right script.
Given the cross-promotion Carrey and the WWE had just a few years ago, I could see the two sides working out another deal if Carrey comes out with another flop of a movie anytime soon.
6. Conan O'Brien
5 of 10Conan O'Brien has hosted a number of WWE stars on his late night talk show.
The Miz appeared on O'Brien's show earlier this month, Sheamus had a nice little segment with O'Brien back in November, John Cena was on the show back in 2008 and The Big Show, The Great Khali, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes appeared alongside O'Brien in 2009.
I don't watch O'Brien because I honestly can't stand the guy, but if he's having that many WWE stars appear on his shows, I'm assuming he's at least a casual WWE fan.
If that is indeed the case, then he would certainly perform well as guest host on Monday Night Raw.
The WWE is famous for its talk show segments, and having O'Brien host a talk show of his own would probably result in some decent comedy.
Maybe not roll-on-the-floor funny, but funny enough for the PG era.
5. Bill Simmons
6 of 10If you do not know who Bill Simmons is, then I'm assuming you're probably not much of a sports fan.
Simmons is a writer for ESPN—and now Grantland.com—who focuses primarily on the NBA, but he is known for his love of pro wrestling and the WWE.
In 2010, he wrote a running diary of WrestleMania 26, somehow managing to show some great knowledge about the WWE and then balancing it with incredible humor.
Simmons is one of the funniest sports writers around, but he is equally as good when he takes a serious tone.
I'm convinced that he would be great for the creative team, but there's no point in leaving a job at ESPN where he writes about whatever he wants, when Vince McMahon would probably just shoot down his ideas anyway.
That being said, bring Simmons to the WWE in some way, shape or form, and you can't wrong.
4. Michelle Beadle
7 of 10Speaking of ESPN, Michelle Beadle is another unabashed WWE fan.
The popular (and, might I add, hot) host of SportsNation is quickly becoming one of the most well-known female sports personalities in the country.
And she doesn't hide her love for the WWE.
Just check out Beadle's Twitter account, and you'll notice that she's insanely loyal to the WWE, as she watches Monday Night Raw week in and week out no matter what the circumstances.
Beadle is not just one of those celebrities who just says she watches pro wrestling. She really does.
Look at some of her tweets, and you'll be impressed with her knowledge of the WWE product.
3. Three 6 Mafia
8 of 10Juicy J and DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia are arguably the biggest wrestling fans from the rap music industry.
They've been seen in attendance at several WWE shows, and they are the men behind Mark Henry's current theme song "Some Bodies Gonna Get It."
As you can see by this article on WWE.com, Three 6 Mafia's fandom stems partly from the fact that they live in Memphis, where pro wrestling is incredibly popular and has a long, rich history.
Regardless of where their love of the WWE comes from, though, Juicy J and DJ Paul would thrive as Raw guest stars because they'd actually know what's going on.
They also happen to be very charismatic and unintentionally funny, and they obviously aren't shy about being in front of cameras or large crowds.
2. Regis Philbin
9 of 10Maybe this one comes as a shocker, but it shouldn't.
Don't let the fact that Regis Philbin is 80 years old fool you—he is a known WWE fan who has both worked with the WWE in the past and acknowledged the WWE on his daily talk show, Live with Regis and Kelly.
Philbin would bring that same humor to the WWE that anyone who's been around since the 1930s, just like Bob Barker, might do.
Is it different and quirky? Sure.
Could it work? Absolutely.
Philbin and the WWE may not seem like they really go together, but in a PG era where raunchy and dirty comedy is essentially nonexistent, he could certainly fit in in the WWE.
1. LeBron James
10 of 10LeBron James is the NBA's version of John Cena.
Even though he's never done anything downright horrible to anyone, LeBron still has a legion of haters who aren't going to start liking him anytime soon.
Sounds familiar, huh?
LeBron might have his haters, but he'd be a great fit for the WWE, especially at this year's WrestleMania in Miami, where he currently plays.
He could be the ultimate baby face there, or he could serve as a top heel if he were to guest host Raw in Cleveland. Man, that would be awesome.
Either way, LeBron is a huge name with a ton of drawing power, and had the NBA lockout cancelled the 2011-12 NBA season, I think it would have been pretty inevitable that he would have appeared at WrestleMania 28.
Now, it's all about finding the right spot for one of the most famous athletes on the planet.
