June 6, 2021
Buff Bagwell has a message for fans: He's doing just fine.
The former WWE and WCW wrestler spoke to TMZ Sports days after his arrest in Georgia, with Bagwell assuring fans he's in great health by ripping off his shirt.
"I just don't understand why everybody's worrying. I just think, honest to God, brother, I really, really am thankful for them reaching out with their prayers and I thank everybody for that," Bagwell said. "I just want to say I'm fine, thank you for your prayers. Without the wrestling fans, there is no Buff."
Bagwell, who was known for his excellent physique throughout his wrestling career, was arrested on the following charges in Cobb County last week: misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs, misdemeanor open container violation, four misdemeanor charges of hit and run, misdemeanor speeding, misdemeanor failing to yield when entering intersection, misdemeanor giving false name or address or birth date to law enforcement officer, three charges of following too closely, misdemeanor reckless driving, misdemeanor driving within a gore or median or emergency lane, misdemeanor duty upon striking a fixed object, misdemeanor driving on the wrong side of the roadway and misdemeanor license to be carried and exhibited on demand.
Bagwell was previously involved in a car accident last August. Police believe he was impaired by prescription drugs in that incident.
Bagwell, 51, wrestled in WCW from 1991 to 2001 and then had a brief stint in WWE in 2001. He's spent most of his career on the independent circuit since, highlighted by brief runs in TNA.
