Jimmer Fredette Video: Watch Kings' Rookie Show Off Impressive Dance Moves

Who knew they teach dance moves at BYU.

Jimmer Fredette may not be able to control the NBA lockout negotiations, but he sure can own the dance floor.

A large group of Sacramento Kings gathered for the Goon Squad Classic at the UC Davis Pavilion hosted by Donte Green Sunday night in Jimmer’s first opportunity to play in front of a Sac-town crowd.

At halftime of the exhibition game a dance-off broke out for the 4,000 or so fans. Jimmer was first up and he shocked the crowd.

It may not have been the smoothest jig for the rap music blaring from the speakers, but you can’t deny the impressive footwork. He was doing the step back with ease as if he was creating space from a defender.

My favorite move came at the end when he is crouched down and looks to be rolling some dice. Clearly he had done this before.

Say what you want about Jimmer’s performance, but it was 100 times better than his competitor and fellow rookie Isaiah Thomas. The song “Teach me How to Dougie” began to blare from the speakers as Thomas started to get loose, swaying side-to-side. Unfortunately that was the extent of his performance as he quickly got cold feet.

It was so bad that the crowd began chanting for John Wall to clean up the mess. He is the undisputed champion when it comes to the dougie. As he rolled around on the court he politely declined. Even Wall couldn’t fix that horrendous mess.

The teams featured a bevy of big-name players you’ve heard of: Tyreke Evans, DeMarcus Cousins, Hassan Whiteside, Thomas, Lakers forward, Sacramento native Matt Barnes and Washington Wizards guard, and Cousins’ Kentucky teammate Wall, who did not play.

If this is the best players can do right now, the owners have to be smiling somewhere.

At least Jimmer was able to show his new fan base that he is much more than a stiff white guy that shoots long-range jumpers.
