The 50 Best Non-NHL Hockey Jerseys of All Time

The NHL has its share of great looking jerseys, but so do the minor league, Olympic, foreign leagues, and college teams that represent the sport.

Let's look at the 50 best non-NHL jerseys in hockey history.

Abbotsford Heat (AHL)

One of the best jerseys in the AHL.

Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) 2008-09

This Cincinnati Cyclones jersey really does a god job complementing the primary black color with red and yellow stripes. The logo is also pretty cool.

Florida Everblades (ECHL) 2009-10

Even though hockey isn't a big part of the Florida way of life, its pro and minor league teams have some solid jerseys.

Rouyn-Noranda Huskies

Sweet sweater from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Portland Pirates (2010/11)

The Portland Pirates have a very cool logo and a well-designed red, black, and white sweater. Like the Sabres, they always have nice jerseys.

Elmira Jackals (ECHL) 2006-07

This jersey is great in every area, and it has a nice, modern look to it. Great use of red, white, and blue. 

Pretty intimidating logo as well.

Providence Bruins (AHL) 2007-08

A simple, yet effective jersey from the Providence Bruins, who are the Boston Bruins minor league squad.

Plymouth Whalers

A really nice green jersey from the Plymouth Whalers.

Alaska Aces (ECHL) 2007-08

This is a fantastic jersey that effectively utilizes the logo colors on the jersey. 

Minnesota Golden Gophers

One of the very best hockey jerseys at any level, any league.

Connecticut Whale (AHL) 2010-11

If Connecticut is going to have a hockey team, they might as well bring back the Hartford Whalers. Regardless of that, however, these jerseys are amazing.

Colorado Eagles (CHL) 2005-06

The Colorado Eagles 2006 jersey is really cool and quite colorful as well. I particularly like the three claws on the front and back of the sweater.

Maine (NCAA)

Although not an amazingly designed sweater, the University of Maine blue jerseys are a favorite among college hockey fans.

Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) 2007-08

A pretty cool jersey from the Milwaukee Admirals, it even uses the awesome vintage logo of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Boston College (NCAA)

Sweater of the Boston College Eagles: one of the premier hockey programs in the Hockey East conference.

Reading Royals (ECHL) 2008-09

The Reading Royals created a very nice jersey here, and it looks similar to the style of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings.

Manitoba Moose (AHL) 2007-08

Hands down, one of the better AHL jerseys.

Springfield Falcons (AHL) 2006-07

A fantastic use of the colors blue, white, and yellow on this Springfield Falcons jersey.

Boston College (NCAA) 2011-12

The new Boston College sweater.

This is a really awesome logo and color scheme for the UNH Wildcats from the Hockey East Conference.

Vermont Catamounts (NCAA)

A sweet jersey from the Vermont Catamounts of Hockey East, the alma mater of NHL stars Tim Thomas and Martin St. Louis.

Providence Friars (NCAA)

This is the sweater from the Providence Friars of Hockey East.

Michigan State Spartans (NCAA)

A simple, yet effective sweater from Michigan State.

Michigan Wolverines (NCAA)

One of the best jerseys in college hockey—no question.

An interesting style to this jersey, but it's pretty cool.

Ontario Reign (ECHL) 2008-09

An awesome use of colors blue and orange, and the Reign's logo is cool too.

Arizona Sundogs (CHL) 2006-07

One of the better Sundogs jerseys in their history, this one uses the color scheme well throughout the jersey.

Stockton Thunder (ECHL) 2005-06

There is a really cool use of the lightning strikes on this sweater.

Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) 2006-07

Great use of blue and black—it kind of reminds me of the Tampa Bay Lightning style with this color scheme.

Laredo Bucks (CHL) 2004-05

A very interestingly designed sweater from the Loredo Bucks.

Avangard Omsk

Awesome jersey from the Avangard Omsk of Russia's KHL.

Another well-designed jersey that does well to use the primary black color, this Lake Erie Monsters jersey has an intimidating look to it.

Soviet Union

Whether or not you cheered for the Soviet Union, these jerseys are classic.
