NHL Buzz: Tuesday, July 6
It is expected to be a very busy week in the NHL, here is the latest on what may happen.
Things are expected to pick up on the Tomas Kaberle front today. Rumored teams interested are the Sabres, Ducks, Kings, and Devils (if they clear some cap or don't sign Kovalchuk).
Nikolai Zherdev is indeed returning to the NHL. Rumor has it the Sabres and Bruins are very interested in his services.

Ilya Kovalchuk is expected to sign with a team today. Rumor has it the Devils are very close to signing him to a long-term extension, but you shouldn't rule out the KHL. I have also read various reports saying the Isles are interested but have yet to make an offer.
Last month Teemu Selanne said if the Ducks were going in the right direction (still a good team), he would return. Well, the Ducks have bolstered their roster with re-signing one of his best friends, Saku Koivu, as well as signing another player from Finland by the name of Toni Lydman.
Rumor has it several teams are interested in Alex Frolov, but it is believed if he doesn't get the money he wants he will head back to Russia to play in the KHL.
