Following their victory last week, there was only one thing bigger and more eventful than the volcano in Iceland.

The whole country of Greece was wondering, "Can Asteras Tripolis, after their defiant win over Aris Thessaloniki, majorly upset the odds yet again and defeat the colossal giants themselves, AEK Athens?"

Could the current surprise package and champions of Barney Corkhill's Unofficial World Club Championship (UWCC ) do it again and retain their title?

But, as you've worked out from the headline, they didn't retain their title, and instead got put in the pockets of big guns AEK Athens with a crushing 2-0 defeat.

Just three minutes into the second half, Algeria's World Cup hopeful Rafik Djebbour finished from close range after being set up from a dangerously fizzing cross put in from the right wing.

The score remained 1-0 for much of the match, but if Asteras Tripolis were audacious enough to think they actually had a chance of getting a draw, giants AEK soon put them back in their place.

In the 90th minute of the match, midfielder Pantelis Kafes killed off his opponents to seal a comfortable victory for the Athens side.

100 percent of voters correctly predicted that AEK Athens would beat Asteras Tripolis to claim the UWCC title, so congratulations to the overwhelming majority!
