Fantasy DC's Week Seven: Buy/Sell Report
Ben Roethlisberger PIT, QB
Jon Dove-Buy—Ben is a very consistent quarterback. This year he is finally putting up big fantasy numbers. Chances are that Ben is somebody’s second quarterback so you might be able to pry him away. His value continues to go up if the Steelers can continue to run the ball.
Billy Smith-Buy—Roethlisberger has cemented himself as a big time quarterback. He has plenty of weapons around him. I would put him in the top five or six list of quarterbacks out there.
Laurence Maroney NE, RB
Jon Dove-Hold—Maroney burned a lot of people last season. I wouldn’t trade for him but I would hold on to him because the injuries to Taylor and Morris leaves Maroney with the bulk of the carries. However, if the next game you see Maroney and Green—Ellis splitting carries dump him while he has value.
Billy Smith-Buy—Injuries to Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris are going to expand his role. I wouldn’t take a ton of stock in what he did against the Titans, that team quit half way through the second quarter.
Zach Miller OAK, TE
Jon Dove-Hold—Miller is a great tight end. Too bad the rest of the team is terrible. I would hold and wait to see if Russell gets on a roll because Miller is his favorite and best option.
Billy Smith-Sell—Had a nice game against the Eagles, but here are two words to persuade you: JaMarcus-Russell.
Sidney Rice MIN, WR
Jon Dove-Sell—Rice has had an inconsistent career and this season will not be any different. The Vikings are a running team and have a few good options at receiver (Berrian, Harvin, Rice), so Rice isn’t guaranteed to get the bulk of the targets. I also feel that Farve will self destruct at some point in the season.
Billy Smith-Buy—I like Rice. Favre is throwing the ball around and teams have to bring up a safety to stop Peterson. Rice will avoid double teams and Favre will throw him the ball.
Hakeem Nicks NYG, WR
Jon Dove-Sell—People are always looking for wide receiver help and Nicks could have a lot of value. He will have a few nice games this season but you might be able to get a nice piece for your team by moving him.
Billy Smith-Buy—If you need a fill in or are desperate for a fill in, Nicks wouldn’t be a bad pick up. He is getting a few more catches and can get open deep. However, he isn’t going to put up the numbers like he did against the Saints every week.
Jonathan Stewart CAR, RB
Jon Dove-Sell—The Panthers need a quarterback and until they get one the running game will suffer. Not to mention DeAngelo Williams is still the feature back.
Billy Smith-Sell—Had a big game Sunday against Tampa Bay, but is only averaging around 50 yards a game.
