
Blue Jackets Fan Promised Dog If Cam Atkinson Scores Goal, Player Nets Hat Trick
One young Columbus Blue Jackets fan entered Nationwide Arena Monday night with birthday wishes and puppy dreams.
And she left the game against the Montreal Canadiens fully satisfied and with more than enough ammo for future negotiations with her dadโall thanks to Columbus right wing Cam Atkinson.
Maddie (the fan) was spotted in the stands holding a sign that said her dad had promised her a dog if Atkinson scored a goal. Fortunately, he didn't promise a dog for every goal No. 13 scoredโbecause the Blue Jackets forward netted a hat trick.

Atkinson lit the lamp with just more than five minutes to play in the first period, a goal that evened the score at 1-1. He then gave his team the lead with another score just minutes into the second period, and he capped off a 5-2 victory by completing the hat trick with a goal in the final minute of the game.
