Rob Gronkowski vs. J.J. Watt: Who Had the Better Summer?
In case you haven't noticed, two of the most dominant NFL players at their respective positions are having one hell of a summer, engaging with fans during events and proving that they are two of the hippest dudes on the block.
What Houston Texans' all-world defender J.J. Watt and the beastly Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots have done over the past few months sure has looked like fun, with them documenting most of it on their social media accounts.
Considering how great both of these guys have had it, we wonder—who has had the better summer?

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
With NFL Training Camps getting underway and ending Watt's and Gronk's parties, I try to solve the question.
J.J. Meets His Childhood Crush, Jennifer Aniston
Coolness Points: 9
I don't care who you are or how old you get, a childhood crush never just evaporates into thin air. So when J.J. Watt had the opportunity to actually meet his—former Friends star Jennifer Aniston—he took full advantage of it by charming her as best he could.
Of course, it's a little bit of an unfair advantage that Watt is the best defensive football player on the planet, meaning he can usually pull some strings to talk with whomever he wants. Meeting Aniston had to be one of the highlights of his summer.
Gronk Sings With Another Boston Sports Hero, David Ortiz
Coolness Points: 7
When two of the most lovable Boston athletes get together to record a couple of videos for a donut company, there's going to be quite the positive reaction.
That's what happened when Gronkowski found himself on camera with Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, filming a commercial for Dunkin' Donuts in the most absurdly humorous way possible.
Having released a few of the promos, the best was a Spanish-themed love ballad that was dedicated to an iced coffee drink.
Naturally, the two kill it together, with Gronk stating the obvious while drawing a picture, using the words, "This is a love song, that's about coffee…in Spanish."
Classic Gronkowski right there.
J.J. Does the 'Nae Nae' With a Bunch of Kids
Coolness Points: 7
It might not have been as rad as meeting one of his childhood crushes, but when J.J. Watt was seen dancing with some local Houston kids at the YMCA this week, it showed how cool the 6'6" monster can be.
After busting out the dance move called the Nae Nae following a touchdown he scored during a game last season, the kids thought that he could use some tips, showing him some of the proper form to use for the next time he crosses the goal line.
Watt is clearly just a big kid at heart.
Gronk Loves DuJour Magazine
Coolness Points: 9
Rob Gronkowski, whether by design or pure luck, might just be the biggest ladies man in pro sports—and his photo shoot and appearance at the launch of DuJour magazine proves that.
First, Gronk hung on a beach with a bunch of attractive ladies in teeny bikinis running around Baywatch-style for the shoot.
Then, during the premiere party, Gronk was interviewed on the red carpet by Jordan Duffy, whose flirtation tactics were just a little obvious, even responding to Gronk's question of being single with the line, "I am tonight."
J.J. Bulldozes a Stage Crasher
Coolness Points: 8
If there's one thing that J.J. Watt is really good at, it's knocking other people into next week—although, typically, it's reserved for the gridiron.
Watt showed that he was one nasty security guard during a Zach Brown Band performance at SummerFest, when he bulldozed a fan who jumped up on stage.
Sure, the entire stunt possibly could have been staged, but, even if that was the case, Watt proved again that he isn't someone anyone should mess with.
Does this count as his first sack of the 2015 NFL season?
Gronk Plays Flip Cup On ESPN's SportsNation
Coolness Points: 7
This is only further proof that the world is Rob Gronkowski's playground, and we're all just trying to make a living in it.
Appearing on the ESPN's SportsNation, Gronk, once again, show his inner frat boy by playing the beer-chugging game flip cup on-air with the hosts.
While it was pretty rad to see—especially since they used massive red Solo replicas—the fact that Gronk lost really had to really irk him, as he went ape on the set following the defeat.
Still, what other athlete demands that a game of flip cup be played when he shows up? Oh, that's right, there isn't one besides Gronk.
J.J. Owns the Houston Rockets' Playoff Game
Coolness Points: 7
Watt is quite the charmer.
During a Houston Rockets playoff game, Watt wasn't just sitting courtside wearing sunglasses and trying to appear cool with an entourage, he was actually being a fan!
Of course, a man that large isn't just a normal fan, but still, he was seen dancing around with ladies following the Houston victory and, even cooler, tracking down the kid who sung the national anthem, Nicholas Connors, to make sure he told him how great his performance was.
Watt may be the most famous man in Houston right now, but he's unafraid to cut loose and be himself, which is awesome.
Gronk Raps About Women, Gets Booted Off Stage
Coolness Points: 4
Oy, it seems like everything Gronk does isn't always a hit, as his impromptu rap about girls at a Georgia bar ended up not being too loved by those who witnessed it.
That isn't to say it didn't take courage for Gronk to do what he did—hopping up on stage to grab the mic and show-off his lyrical prowess, which involved the words, "looking for chicks as hot as croco-diles."
But, yikes.
The disaster of a rhyme resulted in the tight end getting booted off the stage by one of the guys in the band. This was one stunt where Gronk's just needed to cut his losses and move on.
J.J. Lives In a Cabin
Coolness Points: 7
When I first heard that Watt was living in a log cabin, as he told the Houston Chronicle back in January, I assumed it was a tiny shanty without electricity in the middle of nowhere.
OK, so I guess one out of two ain't bad, as this shack actually turned out being a beautiful 4,500-square-foot cabin, and, according to RedFin, carried a price tag of $800,000. So it's not tiny, but it is in a town of under 5,000 people. Middle of nowhere is about right.
The place features a bro cave in his garage and some incredible decor inside.
With the crazy deal he signed last offseason, it's clear Watt is taking advantage of the multi-millions in his bank account.
Gronk Releases His Book

Coolness Points: 8
Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else find it hilarious that a book about a guy who is still an active, 26-year-old athlete is being released about his life?
I mean, aren't those things typically reserved for washed-up players who are money starved and looking for attention?
Regardless of what the answer should be, Gronk did release a book, and, judging by some of the excerpts, it seems to be amazing.
Sam Galanis of NESN shared an excerpt from the memoir in which Gronk discusses a heart-to-heart he had with Bill Belichick about his partying:
"While I was watching a training camp practice in between my own exercises, Coach Belichick was standing right next to me and said, "Rob, you are one of the hardest workers I’ve seen, and you’re always working hard when you’re here, but when you’re not here … I don’t know about your craziness off the field, the messing.” I started laughing and told him, "The fun stuff makes me grind harder, coach." He shook his head as he walked off and said, "Whatever works for you."
"
Looks like I have a new one for book club next month.
J.J. Plays Hockey, Has a Strong Slap Shot
Coolness Points: 7
It's a little terrifying to think that J.J. Watt may have ended up being a hockey player—unless, of course, you're an NFL quarterback, which, in that case, it would be a welcome sight.
Growing up a big-time Wisconsin Badgers hockey fan after playing the sport himself, Watt dusted off his skates and appeared at a charity game on the Badgers' home ice—and he didn't seem to forget how to knock the snot out of the puck.
Skating towards the goalie for a penalty shot, Watt stopped, cocked his stick back and fired a ridiculous slap shot at the goalie, who barrel rolled out of the way of the shot in fear.
Gronk Gets Spike Happy with a Model
Coolness Points: 9
In case you don't know who Charlotte McKinney is, she's a model who has been burning up the Internet lately thanks to the announcement that she's trying to get into the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
One way of doing that—besides looking really good—might be to continue hanging out with Gronkowski, who seems to have more than his fair share of pull with the media.
We'll let the video do the taking on this one.
J.J. Does An Awesome Arnold Schwarzenegger Impression
Coolness Points: 8
Now, I'm not saying Watt should even consider changing his career, but if he were to consider switching it up, maybe some voiceover work is in the cards.
That's because Watt busted out quite the impressive Arnold Schwarzenegger impression earlier this summer, showing that he has some skills that might just attract the Hollywood types.
Watt did so well that Arnold himself applauded the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, tweeting out that maybe Watt should stand-in for the former Governator next time a voiceover opportunity pops up.
Gronk is Hilarious on "Celebrity Family Feud"
Coolness Points: 8
The TV show "Family Feud" has been around for a long, long time, and Gronkowski added his name to the list of the show's most notable guests when owned his appearance on the show this summer.
From his dancing to his witty responses, Gronk was the center of attention, as usual.
He is a character no matter where he goes, and his time on "Celebrity Family Feud" only proved that even more.
Final Coolness Scoreboard: J.J. Watt - 53, Rob Gronkowski - 52
