Will the Bocbcats make the playoffs this year?
Coming off a 35-47 record in the 08-09 season finishing 4 games out of the 8th playoff spot the Bobcats might be on the verge of signing the player who could potentially bring the franchise it's first winning season and catapault them into the playoffs this year.
With a roster of solid players such as potential all-star Gerald Wallace and young players like Boris Diaw, Raymond Felton, D.J.Augustine and Tyson Chandler, along with Iverson if they sign him can potentially challenge for that 7th or 8th playoff spot out East, in my mind Iverson is worth an additional 5 to 10 wins for this team. Which would put them over 40+ wins which in the east is all you need to get that final spot.
The big questions are how will Allen adjust to playing at the sg,cause they already have their pg position set with Felton and Augustine, and with Iverson in the backcourt it makes them above average with those 3 players. The frontcourt is led by the explosive slasher/scorer and defensive stallworth Gerald Wallace, but wit the loss of the double double machine Okafor, the question is will the new arrival of Tyson Chandler be able to at least put up 10+ppg,10+rpg,2bpg throughout the season as Okafor had done for that franchise for half a decade.
If Chandler can average those numbers and Iverson plays like the AI of the 07-08 season I believe coach Larry Brown and the Bobcats could sneak into the playoffs and maybe win a game or two in the first round but eventually will get bounced by either the Magic,Celtics,Wizards or Cavs.Whichever one of those team get that 1st or 2nd seed.
You have a potential top 7 in Charlotte of:
6th man D.J Augustine
7th Raja Bell
Solid 7 man rotation.
