The league’s most entertaining future Hall of Famer feels he has one more good run in him, and according to Yahoo! Sports, his choices on future employers are with the two best players in the game. It’s no secret that the Cavaliers have entertained ideas to bring in O’Neal, as they flirted with the idea in February.
As for reuniting with the Lakers, that is a little more far-fetched. Whether the Lakers win or lose the NBA Finals this year, I just can’t see Kobe Bryant welcoming back the man that publicly feuded with him during the darkest moments of his career. Stranger things have happened though…
In other news, The New Orleans Hornets are looking to gain some help in the paint in the upcoming NBA Draft, and one player on their radar is former UNC Tarheel Tyler Hansborough.
The Times Picayune reports Hornets coach Byron Scott is very impressed with Hansborough, and considering Tyson Chandler will need four months rehab on his ankle, drafting Hansborough could be more than just an insurance policy.
There are some players that are on the rise in the NBA Draft, while others could be sliding due to the point guard rush expected in the Top 10. According to the Star Ledger, James Harden and Demar DeRozan are two players who are in danger of slipping down from the original projections.
The Nets, who select 11th, would love ideally to bring in another scorer like the above mentioned, though realistically both will be gone by then. Mocks across the net have NJ taking anyone from Earl Clark, Terrence Williams, or James Johnson.
