Summer Transfer Window Gossip: Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Victor Moses

1 of 6

The summer transfer window is now wide open, and the speculation is reaching fever pitch across the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho will be officially unveiled as Chelsea manager at a press conference on Monday, according to David Kent of the Daily Mail, where he will be asked about a number of transfer targets. But who are the current names figuring highly in rumours?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set for an explosive transfer window if one report is to be believed. But who are the names on the Gunners' shopping list?

One Arsenal player has also been linked to a move away from the Emirates Stadium, but who is it and where is he going?

Tottenham and Everton are also weighing up bids for new players in their hope to break into the Champions League places this season.

Read on to find out more.

Returning Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is at the forefront of the transfer speculation stories in the newspapers today.

The former Real Madrid coach is poised to raid the Bernabeu Stadium, with midfielder Xabi Alonso high on his shopping list, according to Jason Burt of the Sunday Telegraph.

The former Liverpool player joined Real in August 2009 for £30 million and played throughout Mourinho's three-year tenure with the La Liga giants.

Mourinho has also been linked to a move for Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez, according to Duncan Castles of the Sunday Times.

In addition, Paul Hetherington of the Daily Star Sunday claims Mourinho is eyeing Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala and Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Marco van Ginkel.

Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is poised to make a club-record mark on the transfer market this summer, claims Rob Draper of the Mail on Sunday.

Wenger will spend £70 million this summer with Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen in his sights, according to the report.

The Gunners qualified for the Champions League this season but again failed to win silverware for the eighth successive year.

Wenger—who has also been linked with Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, as David Hytner of The Guardian reported—has endured, arguably, the most difficult season of his career with the Gunners.

But Wenger, who is now the longest-serving Premier League manager, is set for a move into the market for new players to boost hopes of ending the Gunners' trophy drought.

Gervinho

While Wenger and Arsenal build for the future, a current Gunner could be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium, according to Carl Eldridge of the Daily Star Sunday.

Striker Gervinho is set to join Galatasaray in a £12 million deal, reports the newspaper, which will see him link up with fellow Ivory Coast internationals Didier Drogba and Emmanuel Eboue at the Turkish club.

Gervinho has had mixed fortunes since joining Arsenal from Lille for £10.8 million in 2011, scoring 11 times in 63 appearances for the North London club.

His departure follows the release of Andrei Arshavin, Denilson and Sebastien Squillaci earlier in the week as Arsenal clear the decks in preparation for new signings.

Tottenham

Tottenham will battle it out with Borussia Dortmund in a bid to secure the services of Brazilian youngster Bernard, according to Matt Law of the Sunday Mirror.

The Atletico Mineiro midfielder has been watched by the Bundesliga side, with a view to replace the Bayern Munich-bound Mario Gotze, reports the newspaper.

But the White Hart Lane club have also joined the chase for the 20-year-old in a bid to bolster their Champions League challenge next season.

Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Fulham winger Alex Kacaniklic in the same report.

Victor Moses

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is already being linked with a number of Wigan Athletic players following his appointment to succeed David Moyes at Goodison Park from the DW Stadium.

James McCarthy, Callum McManaman, Shaun Maloney, Antolin Alcaraz and Arouna Kone have all been linked with a move to Merseyside, according to Alan Nixon of The Mirror.

However, Joe Bernstein of the Mail On Sunday believes Martinez is also targeting former Wigan forward Victor Moses in a £10 million deal from Chelsea.

Moses, 22, was signed by Roberto Di Matteo for the Stamford Bridge club last summer, but his future is unclear under new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, according to the Mail On Sunday report.
