Celtic fans are holding their collective breathes, because KG's wounded knee is not getting any better.  Word from the Celtics is that they shut him down again for precautionary measures.

Ahhh... where did Celtic fans hear that before? Oh yeah, when Larry Legend hurt his back.  It was 1991, Boston was among the favored to win and it was possibly the last hurrah for The Big three.

Bird was in his 11th year ala Pierce; Parish in his 14th season, KG in his thirteenth; and McHale in his tenth, Allen in his twelth.

Reggis Lewis was in his third year (R.I.P—an unfortunate ending to a promising career), as Rondo, a very court savvy point guard, is in his.

Birds injury derailed the express and the Celtics were never serious contenders again until 2007-08 season, when they won the championship.

Does the same fate await the Celtics? Only time will tell because as of this writing the Boston Globe reports that KG is shutdown till April 12th 7 days before forty days and forty nights of caffeinated basketball for all you hoop enthusiasts on TNT.

If the Celtics have a less than a hundred percent KG for the playoffs; they are going to have to make sure someone hits Big Baby on the head everynight before each playoff game.

Starbury also is going to have to get his luster back so he can shine, and Mikki Moore has to morph into a consistent defender.

We already know what Eddie 'mouse' in the House can do, but might we get limited doses of Bill 'Sky'Walker in the playoffs like Big Baby did last year? Maybe Doc will play him against King James as our new aged James Posey.

Hear me out, during preseason Doc already gave us a preview of this matchup, when LeBron found that he could not bully the rookie in the low post.  In fact Walker got under James skin and you could see he was visibly agitated.

Now that Walker has somewhat tasted the NBA game, wouldn't it be delicious if he matched them up again in the final regular season game in Cleveland.

Danny Ainge has to look for a possible replacement for KG in this years draft or possibly through a trade of J.R. Giddens and yes I am going to speak blasphemy Leon Powe.

I would like to see Danny make a trade with Portland.  Yes I know they are not going to give up Aldridge, but how about Channing Frye.  At 6'11' he is just about the same height as KG and is athletic.  Frye also possesses an excellent mid range game and like KG does not like to post up.

He can learn from KG and we would have a viable replacement for KG who is young enough and already has NBA experience.  He hardly gets any run anyway and Batum is on his way to making him irrelevant.

In this scenario after KG retires he won't be the focal point of the team because I believe that Walker, Rondo, and Perk will be the foundation of the Celtics future. But Frye maybe be able to consistently give them 15 ppg.

Trader Dan will have to go and find a 6' 11'' diamond in the rough because the Celtics will once again be picking in the bottom third of the draft and KG's playing days maybe numbered.
