Oakland A's: Yoenis Cespedes, Brandon McCarthy Due Back over Weekend
The Oakland A's are certainly in need of any help that they can get at this point.
They have been dreadful since Yoenis Cespedes went on the DL, losing 14 of 21 games and seven in a row.
The help they need will return over the weekend, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. Cespedes will return on Friday and Brandon McCarthy will start on Saturday against the Kansas City Royals:
"Melvin says the plan with Cespedes is still to have him join the team Friday. #Athletics

Slusser also tweeted, "McCarthy came out of bullpen session well, is a go for Saturday."
The news is nothing but positive in terms of their injured players returning, but is it too late for the A's?
They have been in a free fall in the AL West and appear to be all but out of it. A long winning streak will get them back in contention, but it will not be easy with the L.A. Angels hitting their stride and the Texas Rangers continuing to cruise.
The A's will at least have the guys back in place to see what can happen.
It won't be easy, but it is not impossible.
