WWE Rumors: Feud Between John Cena and Daniel Bryan Discussed by WWE Officials
I know it was Christmas this past weekend, so some WWE news probably flew under the radar.
But I couldn’t miss out on talking about a potentially huge WWE match that company officials recently discussed—one that seems very intriguing, to say the least.

Woah. That one really came out of nowhere, huh?
There are so many things that would have to change for a Bryan vs. Cena feud to work. I mean, they’re both baby faces on separate brands in the midst of new feuds, and Bryan is the World Heavyweight Champion.
At least theoretically, WWE officials would have to shuffle a lot of cards to make a Bryan/Cena feud make sense unless they can hold off on it until after WrestleMania 28. No matter when this feud would be held or what the exact circumstances are surrounding it, however, consider me a fan of it.
I’d absolutely love to see Cena feud with Bryan, if for no other reason than the fact that I have no idea how it would go down.
Would Cena or Bryan have to go heel first? Would it be a feud between two baby faces? Would the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship be involved?
There are so many questions about this potential rivalry and very few answers, which is exactly why I like it. Cena has feuded with just about every top star in the WWE, but given that both he and Bryan are baby faces and that Bryan just made it to the main event scene, these two have never crossed paths.
They’ve worked together, sure. But they’ve never really worked against each other, aside from the Nexus’ initial attack way back in the summer of 2010.
Thus, it would be an absolutely huge opportunity for Bryan to work a program with Cena, one that I think could do for Bryan what CM Punk’s feud with Cena did for Punk this summer. If you want to turn a borderline main event worker (who’s obviously capable of staying their permanently) into a huge star, then you have to put him in a feud with one of the WWE’s biggest names.
While Punk turned into a huge star this summer largely because of his own skills, I think it had a lot to do with the fact that it came against Cena, too.
If Bryan battles Cena at some point in 2012, then—who knows?—maybe the same thing will happen and a former indy star will become a bona fide WWE star once again.
