Raiders vs. Chiefs: Key Stats for Kansas City in the First Half
In a battle of AFC West teams who are both still in the playoff race, the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs clash in the latest edition of their storied, 52-year rivalry. Kansas City is coming off a huge win over the Green Bay Packers, which should give them a lot of momentum in the push for the postseason. Here are some key stats and observations for the Chiefs from the first half:
1. 22 Consecutive Field Goals
In the beginning of the first quarter, Ryan Succop came out to the field after a failed Chiefs attempt at a red-zone touchdown and did what he did best. In hitting a 23-yarder, Succop tied the franchise record for consecutive field goals made. At the end of the half, it looked like this streak would continue, but Succop's 49-yard attempt was surprisingly blocked.

2. Spreading the Wealth
Kyle Orton has targeted six different Chiefs receivers already. He's really spreading the wealth, keeping the Raiders' safeties and corners honest. Though there have been few big passing plays as of yet for Kansas City, the fact that so many receivers are involved in the offense will help them make big plays and avoid turnovers in the second half. Right now their passing yards are being trounced by yards on the run.
3. Interceptions
The Chiefs have had Carson Palmer's number today. They've intercepted him twice, and would have picked up another if not for a questionable pass interference penalty. Linebackers, cornerbacks, it doesn't matter for the Chiefs; their defense is doing what needs to be done to keep the Raiders' offense off the field.
