College Football Bowl Games: 7 Brands That Would Make Clever-Sounding Bowl Games
It's unfortunate that college football bowl games have moved away from great names such as the Glass Bowl, the Salad Bowl and the Refrigerator Bowl, to name a few.
But it's even more unfortunate what they have become.
The Beef O'Brady's Bowl, the TicketCity Bowl and the Meineke Car Care Bowl are just a few horrible names of bowls from the 2011-2012 postseason.
If we have to live with brand names in front of the word "bowl," we should at least leave it up to brand names that would make a witty final product.
Here is a list of seven brands that would make a clever-sounding bowl game.
No. 7: JUM Bowl
1 of 7Julia MacMillan founded JUM Hair Extensions, which provides a glue-free way to do hair extensions.
Anyways, that's mostly besides the point.
I think the correct pronunciation is "joom," but enough people would mispronounce it so that the Jumble would eventually become a household name. It sounds like a 70s dance.
The JUM website can be found here.
No. 6: Tolera Bowl
2 of 7Tolera Therapeutics, Inc. develops and commercializes therapy techniques. Some notable illnesses they work with are AIDS and Diabetes.
Being the Tolerable, this game would have to feature teams that would make the game worth watching. In other words, it would have to be a better match-up than this year's Maaco Bowl.
Their website is here.
No. 5: Best Buy Bowl
3 of 7Probably the best-known brand on this list is Best Buy. Best Buy markets electronics and has stores across the country.
Claiming to have the best Scripture, the Best Bible would have to be played somewhere in the "Bible Belt," I assume.
Here is their website.
No. 4: Fay Bowl
4 of 7Fay Clothing markets "urban" style clothing.
The Fable, or the Fay Bowl, would be legendary—and would need to have some moral of the story.
The website can be found here.
No. 3: Envia Bowl
5 of 7Envia Systems is a clean-tech organization involved in working with electric and hybrid cars that are more energy efficient.
Being the Enviable, every team would of course wish they were in this bowl.
Here is the company's website.
No. 2: Applica Bowl
6 of 7Applica Consumer Products, Inc. produces familiar brands such as George Foreman, Black & Decker, Toastmaster and several others.
The Applicable, I mean—The Applica Bowl could give away power tools or kitchen appliances to lucky fans.
The website is here.
No. 1: ADORA Bowl
7 of 7ADORA produces doll products for young children.
The Adorable probably has the cleverest name, but would hurt for want of teams to play in it.
I hope this picture doesn't give you nightmares.
